The European Solidarity Centre’s research publishing house presents essential reading on the history of Solidarity and the fall of communism in Central and Eastern Europe. We aim to offer new syntheses based on the latest research and to popularise the history of the freedom movement of August 1980. Through our publications, we also seek to address contemporary challenges such as transformations in democratic culture, new social movements, European identity, social justice issues and the memory of key events from recent history that have profoundly shaped the world. The books we publish summarise the research activities conducted within the Research Department of the European Solidarity Centre.
