If you are between 22 and 40 years old, involved in activism or journalism – then we invite you to apply for the Solidarity Academy. During this project we will address contemporary media challenges and provide education in areas such as human rights, threats to democracy, and social integration. The project will start in November 2025 and run until June 2026, with only a limited number of spaces for participants. Applicants should be coming from Europe and living in the European Union, as well as in Serbia, Georgia, and Ukraine. Both working professionals and students are encouraged to apply. The final group will consist of 15 people. The project will be conducted in English.v
“We plan to address topics related to disinformation in the media, climate policy, and social justice from the European perspective,” says Agnieszka Detko-Osipowicz, project coordinator from the European Solidarity Centre.
A 60-hour cycle of activities has been planned – three two-day meetings in Poland, and two online sessions. Workshops, lectures, debates, and meetings with experts from various fields will take place online as well as during sessions in Kraków, Warsaw, and Gdańsk.
“We want to train journalists in what we call quality journalism, with a strong emphasis on journalistic ethics and democratic values,” adds Iwona Reichardt, deputy editor in chief of the English-language bimonthly New Eastern Europe.
The organizers cover the costs of accommodation, lodging, transportation, and meals. Some restrictions regarding travel may apply. Detailed information can be found in the regulations. The project inauguration will take place in Kraków on November 27–29, 2025, and its finale is scheduled for June 3–4 in Gdańsk.
The Solidarity Academy is an international project that has been inspiring and supporting the development of young intellectual elites in Europe for several years.
