SMOLEŃSK. WE LOST THE HEROES OF OUR ROAD TO FREEDOM

None of the passengers survived this air disaster. On 10 April 2010, at 8:41 CET, a Polish Tu-154 plane crashed near Smoleńsk, Russia, with 96 people on board, including the President of Poland Lech Kaczyński and the First Lady, the last President of Poland in Exile Ryszard Kaczorowski, Deputy Speakers of the Sejm and Senate chambers of the Polish Parliament, the Polish Ombudsman and the commanders of all the branches of the Polish Armed Forces. The Polish delegation was headed for ceremonies commemorating the 70th anniversary of the NKVD murder of the Polish officers in Katyń. We remember!
We present profiles of the heroes featured at the ECS permanent exhibition, who lost their lives in the tragic Smoleńsk plane crash.
