CULTURE FOR LOCAL DEVELOPMENT

THE ADAM MICKIEWICZ INSTITUTE, ACTING UNDER ITS FLAGSHIP BRAND CULTURE.PL, AND THE EUROPEAN SOLIDARITY CENTRE ARE PLEASED TO INVITE CULTURAL MANAGERS FROM ARMENIA, AZERBAIJAN, BELARUS, GEORGIA, MOLDOVA, POLAND AND UKRAINE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 4th EDITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL PROJECT CULTURE FOR LOCAL DEVELOPMENT.

The project consists of Summer School in Poland, a contest for the best sociocultural project and a programme designed for graduates. It aims at creating a network of professionals in the field of culture, equipping the participants with the skills in project management and leadership, and developing participatory approach towards project implementation.
OUR PROJECT IS ADDRESSED TO ACTIVISTS, WHO:

/ are between 22-35 years old and are involved in management of cultural projects at their different stages (i.e. initiation, coordination, realization);
/ focus on local communities and perceive culture as a potential tool for social change;
/ want to add elements of international cooperation to their work;
/ want to gain new skills to improve their local creative activities.

The working language of the project is English, therefore the participants are expected to know English at least on B2 level.
Selected participants will be invited to take part in the Summer School, which will take place in Poland (Warsaw and Gdańsk) from 6 to 14 June 2019. The Summer School programme will involve workshops as well as study visits to Polish cultural and civic institutions and NGOs. Based on the experience gained during these activities, participants will be able to propose projects that will take part in the contest for graduates. Recruitment for the contest will be announced in September, and the best project will be supported by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute with the possibility of implementation in 2020.

Selection results will be announced by 26 April 2019.

The organisers reserve the right to carry out an additional interview with selected candidates.
